Promotion, inclusion and protection of refugees and host communities in the gig economy

In Kenya, the establishment of a Community of Practice (CoP) on Digital Skills and Jobs provides a collaborative platform for national ecosystem actors to move out of silos and jointly discuss emerging issues in the digital economy, especially those affecting business development and technological adoption, innovation, digital infrastructure, job creation, skills and e-commerce. The CoP’s promotes open dialogue, partnerships, and collaboration to drive systemic change, inclusion and decent work in the digital economy.

Social dialogue plays a fundamental role in designing and steering a digital transformation that leaves no one behind. By bringing together diverse voices and perspectives, including groups traditionally excluded from policymaking, the governments, workers and businesses can jointly establish a framework for digital innovation, productive job creation, social  protection and decent work.
